Attention all speeders! Effective January 1st, 2010, the new Super Speeder Law takes effect in the State of Georgia. This law on interstate highways could cost you as much as $200 more on a speeding ticket if you are going 85 miles per hour more on the highway. On two lane roads, the fine can begin with speeds of 75 miles per hour. These fines are in addition to the regular fines you will pay when you are caught speeding. Fees collected under the new Super Speeder law will be used to help fund Georgia’s trauma care hospital system where approximately sixty percent of all trauma care patients are crash related.
