Dr. J. Hannis Mize purchased Peachtree Corners Animal Clinic in 1991. He also owns Little River Animal Hospital, which he built in 2002. Before arriving at PCAC, he practiced medicine at Johnston Ferry Animal Hospital and Cobb Emergency.

Originally from Alabama, Dr. Mize attended Samford University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He went on to attend the University of Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. His professional interests include ultrasound, soft-tissue surgery, orthopedics and endodontics. Dr. Mize is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.

An avid exerciser, Dr. Mize also enjoys playing golf, coaching his son’s baseball team and restoring classic Corvettes. His family includes wife Alysia, son Lanier and daughter Courtney, as well as Nicholas (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) Sugar (a Labrador Retreiver) and five cats, Jeffery, Kit Kat, Ozzy, Rocky, and Chloe.
