One of the things I wonder is if you opt to just be fined, er taxed, then what type of medical care will you receive without insurance? What will premiums be for insurance plans? As far as I can see it the ‘fine’ is cheaper than insurance.

We are small business owners and have looking into insurance a few times. We always end up not buying any. It’s just so ridiculously priced, and it doesn’t cover anything. It’s insane! I would like a plan for catastrophe type coverage, and as far as I can tell none exist.

We use alternative medicine as preventative and rarely ever see a doctor. When we do we pay cash. If it’s expensive, like an ER visit, we work out a cash price and set a payment plan, and we stick to it and pay our bill off. We’ve had to do that twice over the years. I don’t see the problem with our plan, or why we need to be forced to purchase coverage that will only cost us money and do us no good.

This whole thing REALLY blows my mind!

I’m pretty sure cash will be KING in this new world if everything passes and I think at the end of the day you will ‘get’ what you pay for no matter what type of way you pay for it. I think more people will pay cash and you’ll see more catastrophic type coverage come to the market place in 2014.
