- Size does matter:
The very first thing you will need to determine is what size tent you will need to accommodate your party. To determine this, your tent provider will need to know the following:- The number of guest you are expecting & what style of seating you prefer (i.e. round tables, banquet tables or cocktail style).
- Will you need space for a buffet(s), bar(s), dance floor, stage, photo booth, etc.?
- Baby it’s cold outside…
Depending on your location, December has the potential to be very chilly. Be sure you get with your tent provider to ensure you have sufficient heat. When possible, we recommend using multiple smaller heaters rather than fewer larger heaters. By placing these in different locations it will help keep the heat distributed evenly. The ideal temperature for a tent is 60 degrees. - Sole Mates
Knowing your guest’s footwear is typically not the first thing that comes to mind as an important detail when planning an event. But, when it comes to planning an outdoor event it is something that needs to be considered. If your tent will be setup on grass and you are having formal event where many women will be wearing heels or long dresses, a temporary floor is something you should consider. No one wants to sink into the ground while chatting & sipping cocktails. Temporary flooring can be very large line items in the budget so, if you are on a tight budget choosing a paved or concrete location may be the way to go. - Nature Calls
Bathroom access is not the most glamorous aspect of party planning, but it is one of the most important. Portable restrooms have come a long way in recent years. With luxury bathroom trailers, you can have all the comforts of an indoor restroom. Again, this is where having a solid idea of your guest count is important. Your portable restroom provider will best be able to estimate the appropriate number of facilities with an accurate guest count. - It’s Electric!
Temporary power will be needed for many things at your event such as lights, heaters, AV, DJ, band, etc. As the weather gets colder, the day gets shorter, so making sure you have the power to light your event is key.
